In Dad's Memory

This is my first post (this is Jake). I was five years old when I remember my Dad telling me about the car he had when he was in high school. He loved that car and when he had to sell it to go on his mission. He then told me that he wanted to get another one someday. Well, growing up I promised him that I would build one just like it and give it to him. Well after he passed away I was determined to fulfill my dream. I thought that I would be 50+ before I would find one that would do. But yesterday I found one and my lovely wife was kind enough to give me the green light! So here it is and I know its a work in progress but trust me it will be just like Dad's!

Hey Jake, it's Jamie (Carter). I think that is awesome that you are keeping your promise even after he is gone. It's making me get all choked up. Good for you. I can't wait to see the finished product.

I figured it would just be a matter of time before one of the boys built that car. I too get choked up about the memories. You really need to get the pics of the original from your mom and post them so everyone can see what an amazing car it was. I hope you don't rush the build and it turns out as great as the original. I will ask Chip Foose at the auto-rama if he'll come by and help! I will be patiently waiting to see the great job you'll do! good luck. Trevor
