We also celebrated Jake's birthday. It was a very low key birthday. Kaylee (with Mommy's help) made Jake a beautiful birthday card to give him when he got home from work. He loved it! How could you not? Look at it! She's so proud....
I made him one of his favorite dinners (Mozzerela Chicken). And his friend Rob and his family just happened to be in town so we had them over for dinner with us. We finished off the night with cake and icecream. Like I said, very low key but it was still good. I love my hubby and hope he had a good birthday.
The next week was Valentine's Day. Jake gave me the sweetest card and gave Kaylee a cute stuffed animal. We went to dinner since all I wanted was to not have to cook dinner. We took Kaylee with us and had a good Mexican Valentine's Day dinner. I love my two Valentine's. They're the best ever!
Kaylee received some fun stuff from Grandma and Grandpa Vane. Here's her modeling her new sunglasses and necklaces....
And then dressing her daddy up and stealing his hat....
This month we've been so excited for the last weekend in February because we were going to the Chariot Races! It would have been my first time going up this year and it was the State Finals so I was really excited. Kaylee and I were planning on going out a few days early so I could get some stuff done and spend time with our families and whatnot. Well, Tuesday (the day before we were leaving) Kaylee got sick. Wednesday morning she still was running with some high fevers so I decided to take her into the clinic here before driving to SF. Turns out she had strep throat. My mom told me to still come so we did. Well by Friday Kaylee wasn't doing any better, she was actually worse. So I took her to the doc in SF and they did chest x-rays and took some blood. Her lungs were full of yuckiness and her oxygen levels were pretty low and they talked about admitting her to the hospital for a night. Well her fever finally went down and the doc said she was breathing a little bit better so they sent us home with new medication.
Needless to say, we did not make it to the chariot races nor did I get done most of the things I wanted to get done while being in the city. We did get to see family though which was nice - really nice. Other than that, Kaylee and I spent most days hanging out watching movies and sleeping. Monday was the first day that I've actually seen any improvement in Kaylee's health. My sassy, energetic little girl has been coming back slowly, but surely, this week. And I love it! It was heartbreaking to see her so sick.
That Friday night, after spending the afternoon in the doctor's office with Kaylee, Jake got into town. We had been planning on going out to dinner to Tucanos for his birthday and finally being able to go out with just the two of us. Well we still went - not knowing if we should because of Kaylee. It was nice to go out but we worried about Kaylee most of the time so it was a short date.
The next day Jake drove to Ogden to sale his Silver Dodge. We're a little sad to see it go but we loved to see the money.
Tuesday - the 28th - we had our 3-D ultrasound! And it was actually very disappointing... Baby boy would not cooperate! He had his arm in front of his face the entire time so we couldn't get a good shot. They even had me get up to walk around to see if we could get him to move. Nope. He wasn't budging. The little stinker... I have my regular doctor's appt on Monday so they told me to come back after my appt and we'd try it again. Also, we found out that the baby is breech. Hopefully he'll turn in the coming weeks - I'm googling things that I can do to possibly help him do this. If anyone has any ideas - please share.
And then to end the month, yesterday I had a surprise visit from my mom, dad, and brother Jed. They showed up in the morning with a movie for Kaylee and while I went in to the hospital (just to take my glucose test) they vacuumed and mopped my floor. They bought us lunch, and even brought us dinner for that night. (Jake and I haven't been feeling so well since being home after the weekend.) It was such a nice surprise! And I appreciated it so much! And to make it even better - Jed totally tired little Miss Kaylee out and she slept that afternoon for 4 hours! And still went to bed great! I wish they could have stayed longer but it was so nice for them to visit. It was a great ending to the month!

Poor Kaylee. So glad she is doing better now. We should get together sometime. It's been FOREVER since I've seen you. Let me know if you're in town and have some free time. We can go to dinner or something.
Cory told me Kaylee's been pretty sick, and for quite a while too. Glad she's finally starting to perk up and be herself again. Supportive and helpful family is the best, glad they were there to help you out yesterday. And again, I LOVE your house, so CUTE!!! Excited to meet baby boy!
will you take us on a virtual tour of your new house on the blog??
