Friday night we started off by going to the BBQ. It was blazing hot and kind of miserable. The food was okay but for the most part it was pretty lame. We scarfed our free food down and got out of the miserable heat pretty quickly. We wanted to go on the cruise with them but we had 2 problems: 1. Jake has no seat belts in his back seat for Kaylee and 2. the Camaro keeps overheating so it wouldn't have made the 35 miles. We went home (to our awesome central aired apartment) instead and waited for the theater to open.
We arrived at the Echo Drive-In fairly early and watched all the fun cars from the cruise drive in to the theater. It was really fun. Kaylee played with us while we waited. I think she's pretty excited to start driving!
We put her in her car seat when the movie started and propped her up so she could see. She was glued to Toy Story 3 for the first little while and then she slept. It was a really cute movie, we liked it. We decided to stay for the 2nd movie as well which was Clash of the Titans. We didn't like this one nearly as much. It was pretty lame actually but I'm not really into those kinds of movies. And still Kaylee slept. We didn't get home until around 1:00 am. My little girl is quite the trooper.
Saturday was the actual car show. Jake left early to take the car over and Kaylee and I joined him a little later. It was so fun to walk around and see all of these awesome cars. Jake was parked next to a 2010 Camaro (we forgot to take a picture of it). It was bright yellow with black racing stripes. Very similar to Bumblebee on Transformers and the license plate even said "1BadBee". It was cool to see an old Camaro next to the new one.
They had a raffle for a motor that Jake really wanted. He did not win though but he did win a Car Quest bucket full of car washing supplies - almost as good as the motor! ;)
The show was actually pretty fun and again, our little girl was such a trooper!
Then we came home and worked on our talks. Yep, we had to speak in church. I was a nervous wreck! I HATE HATE HATE speaking in front of a large quantity of people. I was sick to my stomach all morning, I really thought I was going to have to make a run to the bathroom while I was on the stand. Yes, I get that worked up about it. But I think it went okay. Jake did awesome, of course.
All in all, it was a great weekend. Even the speaking part, I guess....

Fun weekend (except for the talks. I'm with ya on that one.) I can't believe how big Kaylee is getting!
Oh my gosh! Kaylee is getting soooo big and I miss her! Ok, I miss you guys too, but you don't change as drastically as Kaylee.(Last time I checked, Jake could roll over both ways and walk already! ha ha!)Just to let you know, we are still here in the same house if you want to drop by! hint hint! I love and miss you all! Love Grandma
What a fun weekend! Love all the pictures! We CAN NOT WAIT to see you guys this weekend!!!
cute blog!! I took Avery to that car show! I didnt see you guys though, darn! I bought her a snocone there and then when we got home i put her down for a nap and she was happily yelling daddadadadad over and over again so loud from her crib! i think the snocone made her have a sugar buzz! she didnt nap that day.
That's the first time I've seen Jake's car. Tell him I think it looks good! Sounds like you guys had a fun weekend. I'm sorry you had to talk in church, that's definitely a negative aspect of moving, you always get called to speak.
