Love Day

Happy Valentine's Day! Yesterday was a really fun day. Jake had some things to do during the day so I went shopping with my bro, had lunch with him, my mom and my other bro. And then Tye and I went home to make chocolate covered strawberries. They were so yummmmy!

When I got home there was a card and a rose from my dad. How sweet is that? And then later, Jake came home and had a little surprise for me. We don't usually do gifts on Valentine's day and just do dinner instead and maybe a card or something. Anyway, it was cute.

That evening Jake and I decided to have a nice, romantic, candlit dinner in the comfort of our own home. We made steak & lobster! It was so good. And for dessert we had some of the chocolate covered stawberries and some cheesecake.

Our romantic dinner

We made a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake on Friday night after Jake and I got home from dinner with my family (who took us to dinner for Jake's birthday, thanks guys!). It had to cook for an hour so I set the timer and then Jake and I put in a movie. Well, Jake and I were asleep within 5 minutes of the movie and we slept through the timer! I was so upset. I was so excited for this cheesecake and we slept through the timer! The cheesecake baked for 45 extra minutes. But instead of chucking it right a way, I put it in the fridge to see what it would taste like the next morning. It was still pretty good so we still ate it for dessert. If it was still good after baking for twice as long as it should have, imagine how good it would be if I wouldn't have messed it up! Yum! I'll have to try it again sometime. Anyway, it doesn't look fantastic - I tried to dress it up with some raspberries but it didn't really work. It kind of looked like a chocolate cake.... but it really was still good.

My sad cheesecake....

Jake was then kind enough to endure watching "The Notebook" with me. Which I love! I know it's cheesy but it's my favorite sappy movie.

It was a really nice night with my man. So in honor of my sweetheart, here's a list of just some of the things I love about him:

  • He makes me laugh! Making dinner last night was hilarious and it was so much fun. And even when I'm down, he can still find a way to bring out a smile in me.

  • He's such a hard worker. I love that he always wants to stay busy instead of being lazy and I know that he will always try his hardest to support me and our family.

  • Jake has a strong testimony of the gospel. He makes me want to be better and he's a huge support to me.

  • And the best one - he loves me. Despite all of my faults (and I'll be the first to admit that I have MANY) he continues to love me always.

I love you Jake!

You two make such a fabulous couple! I am so glad that your valentines day was so wonderful and I must admit, I think the whole "sleeping through the cheesecake buzzer" is so funny. I'm just glad you didn't ruin sometning really good like a chocolate cake! That would have been a tragedy!:) Jake is wonderful and one of the best things about him besides those things you listed Megan, was marrying YOU! I love you both so much!! Love mom
