That afternoon we went up to Salt Lake to go to the Body World's exhibit. It was fasinating! Jake and I were a little nervous about being grossed out and there were stuff that were a little creepy and gross but for the most part it was just really interesting. Our bodies are so complex!
It showed a fetus from 4 weeks up to 8 weeks. It was amazing! Even at 4 weeks - it was so tiny obviously but it had a heart and it's eyes. And by the last one at 8 weeks you could tell it was a very little person. There were also some babies. It was really hard for me to look at these. It made me think of those women who abort their children or the people who are in support of abortion. They're these tiny little beings and it just made me so sad and mad to think of people wanting to legalize abortion. And then I started to think of the women who had these little ones and donated them to the exhibit. That would be really hard I would think. Anyway, I was almost in tears after looking at this part of the exhibit.
The exhibit was really interesting though. I would recommend it as long as you don't get too squimish. Which - I usually am but it really didn't bother me as much as I thought it might. Anyway, it was awesome!
So after the exhibit we went to PF Changs for dinner! It was so yummy! I did however manage to knock over my glass of water with my elbow (the glass shot across the table) right as we were about to leave and water was every where!!! I felt really bad and stupid. But it was a very good dinner.
Then we went to Temple Square and walked around looking at the lights. It was so cold but it was really fun. It was beautiful there. That's one of my very favorite things to do at Christmas time. The temple was so beautful as always and I love the reflection pond there. Anyway, here's a couple of pictures.
Our date got me thinking about our Heavenly Father and our Savior - yes even the Body Worlds exhibit. I was telling Jake how can anyone who sees this exhibit not believe that there is a God who created us. Our bodies are so intricate and complex and it just amazes me how it all works together. And the temple made me think of Christ's birth and all he did for us. I'm so grateful for the gospel and the temple.
Jake and I had so much fun. I have the best husband ever!

I am so jealous that you and Jake got to go to Temple Square together! Mike and I haven't gone to see the lights AT ALL. Not even last year. Good work, Megan! :D
