Our Family Adventure

There's not much to do out here. We go on drives very frequently. The last couple of drives we have went up The Uintas. Not very far but far even to know that it is absolutely gorgeous! So last Thursday night we decided to haul the jeep up there and go for a little ride in the jeep.

The few nights before we went Jake had been getting the jeep ready. He put the back seats in so we could put the car seat in and he fixed a few other things.

On our way up the canyon we were going really slow on this road because there's pot holes EVERYWHERE! It's a little ridiculous. But the road is on Indian land and apparently they don't see the need to fix it. So we're going very slow while weaving back and forth trying to dodge these craters in the road and all of a sudden Kage jumps out of the truck! It was so random. We're not sure if he meant to jump or if he was leaning a little too far and started to slip. We're not sure but his face is a little banged up but no other damage that we could see.

We got up there, unloaded the jeep and I was super paranoid about putting my baby girl in the jeep. But we did and we had a picnic and everything was fine. We were going up this really rocky hill and again, I started freaking out because of my little girl back there - when in reality she's probably the safest out of all of us, strapped in nice and tight. And then she starts talking and laughing. She's loving it!

I calmed down until Jake broke the clutch linkage on the jeep while going up all these rocks. Luckily, Jake fixed it enough to get us back to the road but instead of going back towards the truck, he goes the other way. Of course.... We go a little ways and then we decide to turn around. I don't know what Jake did exactly, all I know is that the jeep turned off and then we couldn't get it started again. So Jake and I push the jeep until we can start coasting. We jump back into the jeep and we are now flying down the road. Eventually Jake got it started again and we went back to the truck. It was a very eventful night. But it was still fun!

Kaylee in the driver's seat of the jeep. Yes, her glasses are kind of falling off.

All bundled up!

Kage kept stealing my seat.

How cute is she?!

It was a beautiful night for a ride. We loved being in the mountains and look forward to many more trips up the canyon!

Yikes, I can just see you just pushing the jeep and jumping in full blast. That's awesome. Glad you're all safe and sounds like little Kaylee enjoyed it too. That's awesome you're so close to the Uintahs, what a great getaway spot.
